WB is the only app on this list with every row ticked. It isn't built for quantity breaks or mix-and-match boxes, which is why the apps that do those well are on this list too.
Which bundle type do you need?
Decide this first. It narrows the list more than anything else.
- Frequently bought together: related products shown next to the one being viewed, added in one click. Good for accessories and refills.
- Buy X Get Y: buy one item, get another free or discounted.
- Spending goals: "spend $80, get free shipping" or a free gift, shown as a progress bar.
- Quantity breaks: buy 2 of the same item and save 10%, buy 3 and save 15%. Good for consumables.
- Mix-and-match / build-a-box: the shopper picks any 3 items from a group.
- Fixed bundles and kits: a set that's always sold together, often as its own product ("starter kit").
The 7 apps
1. WB: Frequently Bought Together
WB puts frequently bought together bundles, Buy X Get Y offers, spending-goal bars, pop-ups and sticky offers in one app, and shows them in six places: the product page, cart, cart drawer, checkout, thank-you page and order-status page.
View WB: Frequently Bought Together on the Shopify App Store →
What you get:
- Offers after the sale. Thank-you and order-status page offers show shoppers who just bought one more relevant product. Of the apps on this list, only WB and Selleasy list this.
- Spending-goal bars with real rewards. Free shipping, an order discount, or a free gift that's added to the cart automatically when the shopper hits the target and removed if they drop below it. Set several tiers, based on cart value or item count.
- Buy X Get Y your way. X and Y can be a specific product or the highest, lowest, first or last item in the cart, with quantities up to 100. Make Y free, or take a % or fixed amount off.
- AI recommendations you can still control. WB's AI recommendations learn what your shoppers buy together and bring in up to 30% more upsell revenue than rules-based apps. You can still pin, block or reorder any product, or set rules like "when someone views X, never show Y" for each placement.
- Pop-up and sticky offers. Show offers in pop-ups and sticky widgets, not just inline on the page.
- Shoppers choose. In bundle layouts, shoppers can pick the variant they want and untick items they don't need. You can also require a minimum number of items before the discount unlocks.
- Discounts that just work. They apply automatically through Shopify's own discount system, so there are no codes to type, and they combine with your other discounts that are set to combine.
- Different offers for different shoppers. Target new or returning customers, logged-in shoppers, customer tags (like wholesale or VIP), country, device or campaign link.
- Settings live in your store. The widget reads its settings from your own store data instead of calling our servers, so your offers keep showing even if our servers have a bad day.
- Analytics and custom CSS on the free plan. See upsell revenue, attach rate, top products and which product led to which upsell, and style every widget with your own CSS. Your theme's brand colours are pulled in at setup.
- We build what's missing. When a medical store needed prescription products shown only to licensed buyers, we built that into the app. Read the Mountainside Medical case study →
Not built for: quantity breaks, fixed-price bundles ("3 for $50"), mix-and-match boxes or subscription products. If those are your main offer, Bundler or Fast Bundle fit better. Bundle items go into the cart as normal products, so stock and fulfillment work exactly as they do today.
Pricing: free for stores with up to 50 orders a month (bundles, Buy X Get Y, product, cart and drawer offers, analytics). $9.99/mo adds thank-you and order-status offers, $19.99/mo adds spending goals, and $49.99/mo adds checkout upsells (which also need Shopify Plus). You pay by order count, never a cut of your revenue. 14-day free trial.
2. Kaching Bundles App & Upsells
The biggest name in the category, with more than 6,000 reviews. Kaching covers quantity breaks, volume discounts, fixed and mix-and-match bundles, BOGO offers and free gifts. It has built-in A/B testing and works with checkout and Shopify POS.
- Pick it if: your main offer is "buy more of the same item" and you want to A/B test it.
- Watch out for: no free plan for live stores, and the price grows with the extra revenue the app brings in: $14.99/mo up to $1,000, $29.99/mo up to $5,000, $59.99/mo up to $10,000. 7-day free trial.
- Versus WB: great if quantity breaks are your whole strategy. If you also want frequently bought together, spending goals and after-sale offers, WB does all of it in one app on order-based pricing, with a free plan on live stores.
3. Bundler » Product Bundles App
Bundler has the most generous free plan here: no limit on revenue or orders, with Buy X Get Y, volume discounts, quantity breaks, % or $ discounts, product page upsells and Shopify POS support. Mix-and-match bundles, bundle landing pages and free shipping offers start at $9.99/mo.
- Pick it if: you want quantity breaks without paying anything.
- Watch out for: bundle analytics are on the $19.99/mo plan, and there are no after-sale, spending-goal or pop-up offers.
- Versus WB: Bundler wins on free quantity breaks. For the upsell side it leaves out — after-sale offers, spending-goal bars, pop-ups, targeting — WB bundles all of it in, with analytics on the free plan.
4. FBP | Fast Bundle & Upsell App
Fast Bundle is built around its Bundle Builder, which lets shoppers make their own box. It also does fixed bundles, BOGO, Buy X Get Y, free gifts, product add-ons, volume discounts and quantity breaks.
- Pick it if: you sell mix-and-match boxes or build-your-own kits.
- Watch out for: no free plan for live stores, and the price grows with your bundle sales: $19/mo up to $1,000 a month, $49/mo up to $3,000, $139/mo up to $10,000. 7-day free trial.
- Versus WB: the pick if build-a-box is your core offer. For everything around it — frequently bought together, spending goals, after-sale offers, customer targeting — WB covers more surfaces and bills on order count, not a share of your sales.
5. Simple Bundles & Kits
Simple Bundles is for stores whose warehouse needs to know what's inside each bundle. It breaks bundles into their individual SKUs for fulfillment, keeps inventory in sync, and connects to 3PL, warehouse, shipping and POS tools.
- Pick it if: you ship kits and need inventory and fulfillment to stay accurate.
- Watch out for: the free plan is small (3 bundles and 50 orders a month), and it's a bundle tool, not an upsell tool. Unlimited bundles start at $14/mo.
- Versus WB: it handles kit inventory; it doesn't sell anything extra. Run WB alongside it for the actual upsells — frequently bought together, Buy X Get Y, spending goals and after-sale offers.
6. Selleasy (Upsell & Cross Sell)
Selleasy is an upsell app first and a bundle app second. It shows frequently bought together bundles, product add-ons, in-cart upsells, pop-ups, checkout upsells, one-click post-purchase offers, and thank-you and order-status page offers.
- Pick it if: your main goal is upsells at every step, including one-click post-purchase.
- Watch out for: Buy X Get Y and spending-goal bars aren't listed. Pricing: free up to 50 orders a month, then $9/mo up to 500 orders, $19/mo up to 1,000 and $29/mo above that, with a 30-day free trial.
- Versus WB: the closest all-rounder on this list — but WB adds the Buy X Get Y offers, spending-goal bars and customer targeting Selleasy doesn't list, so you get the full set in one app.
7. Shopify Bundles
Shopify's own bundle app is free. It creates fixed bundles and multipacks in your Shopify admin, lets shoppers pick variants like size or colour, and updates inventory in real time.
- Pick it if: you need simple kits and don't want to pay for an app.
- Watch out for: fixed bundles and multipacks only, at a set price, with no upsell widgets. It has the lowest rating on this list (2.9).
- Versus WB: Shopify Bundles makes the kit; WB makes it sell. Add WB for the recommendations and offers Shopify Bundles has none of.
What our bundle data shows
We can see how bundles perform in stores running WB: Frequently Bought Together. Here's what the last 90 days show. It's our app's data, not the whole market, but it comes from real orders.
- Most shoppers add one item, not three. In 62% of orders with an upsell, the shopper added one extra item. 24% added two, and about 15% added three or more. Lead with your single best add-on.
- 10% is the most common bundle discount, followed by 5% and 15%. Only about 4 in 10 upsell orders had a discount at all, so plenty of stores sell add-ons at full price.
- A few percent is normal. Among stores with at least 10 upsell orders, the median store saw 2.9% of its orders include an upsell. The range ran from 0.24% to 26%.
How to choose
- Count the offer types you want. If it's more than one — frequently bought together and a spending-goal bar, or Buy X Get Y and after-sale offers — WB: Frequently Bought Together covers them all in one app, so start there. Only reach for a specialist if you need exactly one thing WB isn't built for: quantity breaks (Bundler or Kaching), build-a-box (Fast Bundle), or kits with inventory sync (Simple Bundles & Kits or Shopify Bundles).
- Check how the price grows. WB charges by your store's order count, so your bill tracks your size — never a cut of the revenue the app makes you. Kaching and Fast Bundle charge more as the revenue they bring in grows. Work out what each would cost at twice your current size.
- Check inventory. WB adds bundle items to the cart as normal products, so stock and fulfillment keep working as they do today. Only if your warehouse needs one SKU per bundle do you need a kit app (Simple Bundles & Kits or Shopify Bundles) — and you can run it alongside WB.
- Test one offer for a few weeks. Watch attach rate (the share of orders that include the offer), not just revenue — WB shows both, plus which product led to which upsell, on the free plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Shopify bundle app?
For frequently bought together bundles with AI recommendations, plus Buy X Get Y and spending goals in one app, WB: Frequently Bought Together. For quantity breaks, Bundler or Kaching. For mix-and-match boxes, Fast Bundle. For kits that need accurate inventory, Simple Bundles & Kits or Shopify Bundles.
Is there a free Shopify bundle app?
Yes. WB: Frequently Bought Together and Selleasy are free for stores with up to 50 orders a month. Bundler's free plan has no order limit. Shopify Bundles is fully free for fixed bundles and multipacks, and Simple Bundles & Kits is free for 3 bundles and 50 orders a month.
Which bundle app shows offers after checkout?
On this list, WB: Frequently Bought Together and Selleasy both show offers on the thank-you and order-status pages. Selleasy also does one-click post-purchase offers.
Can you create bundles on Shopify without an app?
Partly. You can list a kit as its own product and price it with Shopify's built-in discounts (like Buy X Get Y or amount off products), but inventory for the individual items won't update when the kit sells, and nothing recommends the bundle to shoppers.
Do bundle apps slow down a Shopify store?
Any app that adds a widget adds some code to your pages. Check your Core Web Vitals before and after installing, and remove apps you're not using.
What discount should a bundle have?
There's no fixed rule. In our data, 10% is the most common bundle discount and many stores offer none. Try a small discount, then compare it with no discount over the same length of time.
