What are rich results?
Rich results (also called rich snippets) are the extra details Google shows under a search listing: star ratings, price, stock status, and more. Google builds them from structured data, a block of product schema in your page's code that describes the product in a format search engines can read.
For a Shopify store, they matter because they take up more space on the results page and answer the shopper's first questions before the click. A rich snippet test like this one checks whether that schema is present, valid, and complete.

Why Shopify stores lose rich snippets
Most Shopify rich snippet problems are not caused by anything you did. They come from gaps between your theme, your apps, and what Google now requires.
The theme's schema is incomplete
Many themes output a basic Product block that leaves out fields Google asks for, like brand, SKU or GTIN, and shipping or return details.
Review apps don't connect to product schema
Your reviews can show on the page but never reach Google, because the review app doesn't add rating data to your product schema.
Apps and theme output duplicate schema
When the theme and one or more apps each add their own Product block, Google sees conflicting data and may drop the rich result.
Price and stock go out of sync
Variant prices, sale prices and availability change often. If the schema doesn't update with them, Google can flag a mismatch.
How to fix missing product schema
Run the test on a live product
Start with a best-selling product. The report lists every error and warning in its Shopify product schema.
Fix errors before warnings
Errors can stop a rich result from showing at all. Warnings are missing recommended fields that make your listing weaker.
Keep one clean Product block
Remove duplicate schema from old apps or theme code, so Google reads a single, consistent source of truth.
Re-test, then keep it updated
Re-scan after each change. Schema needs to stay correct as your catalog, prices and languages change.
Shopify rich results test: FAQ
Is this Shopify rich results test free?
Yes. The test is free to use. Enter your store domain or a product URL and the report runs, with no app to install and no code to add.
Does it work for collection pages?
The test checks product schema, which lives on your product pages. That is where Google shows product rich results like stars, price and availability. Enter your store domain or a product URL to test those pages.
How is this different from Google's Rich Results Test?
Google's Rich Results Test checks one URL at a time against every rich result type. This test is built for Shopify: it focuses on the product schema that drives shopping rich results, lets you check each language on your store, and shows which issues can be fixed automatically.
Which schema types does it check?
It checks Product structured data and the fields Google uses for product rich results, including offers (price, currency and availability), images, brand, identifiers like SKU, and review or rating markup when present.
Missing review stars or product schema?
Webrex adds them automatically and keeps them correct as your catalog changes.
